Ellie & Bradley’s Beautiful Summer Wedding at Longridge House, Preston

There are some wedding days that seem to have been made for summer, and Ellie & Bradley’s celebration at Longridge House was certainly one of them. Set amongst the rolling countryside of the Ribble Valley, Longridge House provided the perfect backdrop for a day filled with colour, laughter and plenty of love. The gardens were bursting with vibrant summer tones, while the temperature was just right for a quintessentially British wedding day — warm enough to enjoy the outdoors, but comfortable enough to keep everyone smiling. With over 130 guests joining Ellie and Bradley during the day, followed by even more friends and family arriving for the evening celebrations, there was a wonderful sense of occasion from the moment we arrived. The Garden Room was particularly suited to a celebration of this size; it is a bright, airy space that can accommodate up to 150 seated guests and opens directly onto the lawns, allowing the indoors and gardens to flow beautifully together.

Longridge House planned their wedding to perfection, and every detail felt thoughtfully considered. The morning preparations took place at Ellie and Bradley’s family homes, where the excitement gradually built before everyone made their way to the ceremony. Ellie was in the amazing hands of Tea Barrea Makeup Artist for her make-up, while Lucy Thompson worked her magic on the hair styling. Rose and Bloom created the beautiful floral arrangements for the church as well as Ellie’s bridal flowers, adding to the vibrant summer feel of the day. Back at Longridge House, Willow and Fig had styled the Garden Room beautifully, creating a setting that felt both elegant and personal. Ellie looked incredible in her wedding dress from Lulu Browns Bridal, while the groomsmen were smartly dressed in suits from Squires. Hesketh Bank Classic Cars provided a gorgeous vintage wedding car, giving Ellie and Bradley a suitably special way to travel between the church and venue.

The ceremony itself took place at The Parish Church of St Michael’s on Wyre, a truly beautiful and historic setting for such an important part of the day. The church has a fascinating history, with tradition suggesting that a church stood on the site as far back as around AD 640. The present building was reconstructed largely in the 15th century, incorporating elements of the earlier medieval church, and it is now a Grade I listed building. It remains an active parish church and is a popular choice for weddings, with its historic character providing a wonderfully atmospheric setting for couples saying their vows.

For us, one of the most beautiful moments of the entire day was seeing Ellie walk up the aisle with her dad, Peter. It was such a genuine and emotional moment, and one that we were honoured to capture through both photography and film. There was something incredibly special about watching the two of them make their way towards Bradley and seeing all the emotion unfold around them.

Bradley also had a particularly meaningful arrival of his own. He drove his dad’s Golf R32 in memory of his father, adding a deeply personal touch to an already emotional day. It was a lovely reminder that weddings are not just about celebrating the future, but also about remembering and carrying with you the people who helped shape your story.

Once everyone arrived at Longridge House, the atmosphere really came alive. We absolutely loved photographing and filming around the venue, particularly in the beautiful gardens. Longridge House offers so many opportunities for natural, relaxed wedding photography, with the gardens providing plenty of space for photographs away from the main celebrations. One of our favourite locations was the iconic bridge leading into the venue. Later in the day, the light became absolutely magical, and we took Ellie and Bradley outside for some portraits in the beautiful golden sunset light. The combination of the summer colours, the surrounding countryside and that warm evening glow created some truly memorable images.

And, of course, no great wedding is complete without a brilliant party. Wedding Jam provided the entertainment and certainly knew how to get the guests moving, with the dance floor quickly filling up with guests busting out all sorts of different dance moves. With the energy continuing well into the evening and even more guests joining the celebrations, it was the perfect way to round off an incredible day.

Ellie and Bradley’s wedding was everything a summer wedding should be: joyful, colourful, emotional and completely personal to them. From the historic setting of St Michael’s on Wyre to the gardens and Garden Room at Longridge House, every part of the day gave us something special to photograph and film. We loved being there to document it all — from the quiet anticipation of the morning preparations to the laughter, happy tears, sunset portraits and wild dance floor celebrations.
